Itawes National Agricultural and Technical School is a recipient of 500 seedlings of Paper Tree and 200 seedlings of Mahogany Tree from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources that instigate the distribution of seedlings to the different towns for the annual tree planting program. Pursuant to DepEd Order No.33, s. 2008 mandating all private and public schools in the country to embark annually on massive, intensive, and sustained tree planting, tree growing, and tree caring activities throughout the school year. INATS embarked on a massive tree planting activity at the green belt area of the school.
Mr. Villamor P. Castillo, Head of the Vocational Department, and the all Vocational Teachers piloted the said activity but was participated by the studentry and faculty.
“It is an enjoyable and an inspiring experience. We are happy that we have contributed in saving Mother Earth from the massive destruction of pollution and floods through this reforestration program”, said Michael kevin Pascual, SSG president.
Furthermore, INATS(Teachers, Staff and Personnel, SSG Officers, and the YES-O) has also participated in the Municipal Program of Tuao for then immense tree planting at San Luis and Abbut, Tuao, Cagayan considering the persistence of flood in the low lying areas of the municipality. The said program is initiated by Hon. Sec. Manuel N. Mamba and the Local Government Unit headed by our Municipal Mayor, Hon. William N. Mamba.
