Bulusan bags 10th place in Press Confab

Khimberly R. Bulusan, a sophomore student, romped away 10th place in Copyreading and Headline Writing Filipino category among the 80 contestants in the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) at Aparri, Cagayan on December 4-6, 2011.

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa Diyos sa pagtupad ng hiling ko at sa wakas nagbunga ang lahat ng sakripisyo naming mga manunulat. Ito ay aking alay sa ating paaralan.“, Bulusan said. She is also a contestant in Editorial Writing Filipino Category.

The tilt is also participated by Reah Malittay, News Writing and Copyreading and Headline Writing (English); Rodel Malana, Feature Writing (English); Joanne Pauline Raquel, Editorial Writing (English); and Jessa Fructosa, Sports Writing (English)

The School Paper Adviser, Mrs. Aida D. Raquel said, “I am proud of the writers because they showed their willingness to learn by sacrificing their vacation to spent it for practice and I know that they did their best in the competition, for that I salute them!”

INATS participates in Tree Planing Program

Itawes National Agricultural and Technical School is a recipient of 500 seedlings of Paper Tree and 200 seedlings of Mahogany Tree from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources that instigate the distribution of seedlings to the different towns for the annual tree planting program. Pursuant to DepEd Order No.33, s. 2008 mandating all private and public schools in the country to embark annually on massive, intensive, and sustained tree planting, tree growing, and tree caring activities throughout the school year. INATS embarked on a massive tree planting activity at the green belt area of the school.

Mr. Villamor P. Castillo, Head of the Vocational Department, and the all Vocational Teachers piloted the said activity but was participated by the studentry and faculty.

“It is an enjoyable and an inspiring experience. We are happy that we have contributed in saving Mother Earth from the massive destruction of pollution and floods through this reforestration program”, said Michael kevin Pascual, SSG president.

Furthermore, INATS(Teachers, Staff and Personnel, SSG Officers, and the YES-O) has also participated in the Municipal Program of Tuao for then immense tree planting at San Luis and Abbut, Tuao, Cagayan considering the persistence of flood in the low lying areas of the municipality. The said program is initiated by Hon. Sec. Manuel N. Mamba and the Local Government Unit headed by our Municipal Mayor, Hon. William N. Mamba.

INATS crowned 3rd place in Eco-Waste Management Tilt

Itawes National Agricultural and Technical School – Main Campus won third place in the Best Implementor in Solid Waste Management Competition and two minor awards: Best in Eco-Waste Segregation and Best in Composting Preparation in the entire Division of Cagayan Secondary Level.

Extreme efforts, time, and budget have been the source of the triump. The entire INATS family has worked hand-in-hand in the success of the activity. The Supreme Students Government (SSG), Yout Environmentalist Students Officers (YES-O), and the teachers headed by Mr. Benito S. Alipio, Jr., Mr. Villamor P. Castillo piloted the preparation in the competition.

The search on the Best Implementor on Solid Waste Management is a yearly program of the Province of Cagayan based on the Republic Act 9003 which states the establishment of the National Commission on Solid Waste Management and the Mandatory segregation of household waste in three containers.

The program aims to educate each citizen – young or adult for proper disposal to maintain a healthy, balance, and safe environment.
